You decided to add a gazebo canopy to your landscape, now you need to ask yourself some questions to make sure you end up with a gazebo that is just right for you. You want to look at what you will be using your gazebo for, what shape/style you want, what its function will be, and where it will be located.

What will your gazebo be used for?

How are you going to be using your Gazebo? Will it be a focal point or will it be an extension of your home? Will it be something you look at, or something you spend time every day in?

What Shape or Style is Right for You?

You also need to think about the shape, size and style of your gazebo. You want it to blend in with your current home style so it looks like it belongs. If you have a shaker style house and add a Victorian gazebo it will not look very good at all. You want it to match your houses style, so take that into consideration when you are choosing the shape and style of your gazebo.

How will you use your Gazebo?

This may seem the same as the first, but it’s a little different. You want to think about how you will be using your gazebo. Will you be using it to sit quietly and watch birds or do you think you will be using it for meals, family gatherings, watching TV, a nice outdoor office? These decisions will help you decide basic elements like adding electricity or not, adding removable windows or using misquito netting. The more you plan to use your gazebo the more user friendly you want to make it.

Where will it be located from the house?

Where will your gazebo be located? Will it be off in the distance near a pond, or back in the garden as a focal point? Will it be right next to the house or even on an existing patio?

Answering this question should help you answer the question of size needed. If you are only using it as a focal point you may be better off getting a smaller gazebo that seats only one or two. If you are using your gazebo near the house you will likely find you are using it more than you ever expected and you will probably want to go with a larger model. You may originally size it just for a table and chairs, and then find out you want it expanded to hold a seating area as well since you are spending so much time out there.

Mosquito Netting For Bed

A Mosquito Net offers protection against mosquitoes, flies and other insects, thereby defending against diseases such as malaria. It’s fine, see-through mesh construction stops many insects from biting and disturbing the person using the net while facilitating free flow of air.

Insecticide Treated Mosquito Nets (ITNs)

Mosquitoes are very adept to finding holes or other ways into nets and bite arms or legs which rest against the net during night. These problems can be prevented by treating the Mosquito Bed Nets. The nets are soaked in a ‘pyrethroid’ insecticide that saturates every part of the net and remains when the net dries. This treatment is called impregnation and these treated nets are called Impregnated Mosquito Nets. The insecticides used are safe for close contact with humans but quickly kill mosquitoes, or at least put them off feeding on blood.

Long-Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs)

Unfortunately, standard ITNs must be replaced or re-treated with insecticide after six washes and therefore not seen as a convenient, effective long-term solution to malaria. As a result, the Mosquito Netting and pesticide industries developed Long-Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs), which bind or incorporate the insecticide such that it is released slowly over 5 years and can be washed at least 20 times with physical durability much more than the normal ITNs.

There is a wide range of Mosquito Netting available, depending on requirements:

·         Baby Mosquito Nets for covering cots, playpens, prams and pushchairs.

·         Some Mosquito Nets are designed to make very attractive features in the bedroom while still giving the protection one needs. ‘Venice’ & ‘Mykonos’ are two of such kinds.

·         Mosquito Tents simply spring open and pop into shape automatically when unpacked, and are then fixed in place; ‘Santorini’ is one such kind. 

·         Travel Mosquito Nets are useful when moving about from place to place, when camping, or for using outside in the garden, as there is minimal hanging/fixing to do.

·         Mosquito Hammock is a cocoon that encloses a hammock. It keeps out the bugs & protects from the tiniest insects.

·         Mosquito Bands or Anti-insect Bands are safe and simply worn on the wrist or ankle for protection up to 48 hours. The natural citronella oil fragrance helps repel mosquitoes and other flying insects.

All these aids are nothing but a solution to attaining freedom from the disturbing buzzing sounds and ensuring a sound problem-free sleep.
