Can you answer .?. Roo-Roo .?.’s question about Canopies?:
I have a large queen bed that has 4 large posts coming out from the sides. The posts are not connected from the top, and I really want to drape the top with a nice drape to make it look like a canopy/curtained bed. Are there ways that I can do this?

Canopies Feedback: of course..if u look at pictures of the way canopy beds are set up the drape rests on posts. Wrap ribbon or something around the top of the posts to hold the drape in place..this could also add some accessories to ur bed
Canopies Feedback: YEP
Canopies Feedback: You could tie closeline or another strong, light rope or wire from the foot to the head on each side and drape gauzy fabric over that. If you twist the fabric around the post it would hide the rope. This way the bed isn’t damaged if you decide to change back.
Canopies Feedback: You could use ceiling mounted curtain rods from which to hang the fabric. They are just as easy to install as regular curtain rods. Each would cost around $50 new but you might be able to buy cheaper on Ebay. Then just hang the fabric from the rods.
If you know a carpenter they could build you a box frame, then put small guage cafe curtain rods inside it and have it attached tot he ceiling. If you don’t know someone who would do this as a favor out of cheap pine moulding than it probably would be too expense like $250. But you could add details like carved appliques or faux finish it on the outside.
Cheapest method might be to use some slender long lengths of bamboo, like you might find at a Garden store as your curtain rods with some ceiling plant hooks placed in the ceiling. Ofcourse this would only support lightweight/sheer curtains. The other two methods I’ve used to support heavy velvet drapes over four poster beds. See link for more info:
